Q. What is the Bedford Fire Department? Who are they and what do they do?
The active (responding) membership of the Department consists of 37 men, 16 women, and 11junior members (high school students), all of whom live, work, go to school, shop, dine, etc. here in Bedford. The Department is 100% volunteer: there are no paid firefighters or EMT's in Bedford Village, and we are always looking for new recruits! Go to www.bedfordfire.com to join. We need Active Members, who train and respond to emergencies, and Associate Members, who take support roles like event planning, fundraising, cooking, and organizing anything else that you can think of.
