On April 22, 2021, the Board of Fire Commissioners awarded the contract for General Construction for the new headquarters at 550 Old Post Road to Niram, Inc. of Cedar Knoll, New Jersey.

The 13 General Construction bids received ranged from $5,683,913.00 to $9,921,300.00. They were opened and recorded on March 30, 2021 at the current firehouse in a Zoom session open to the public.

Niram’s bid of $5,880,000.00 for General Construction was the second lowest received. The lowest bid was withdrawn by the contractor during the vetting process.

The project has garnered wide interest in the local and tri-state construction community, and we are pleased to have received multiple bids in each of the six categories.

On April 12, 2021, the District awarded the other five contracts to the low bidders in their respective categories.

The contracts we awarded are within the budget we projected and communicated to the public in the lead-up to the January 2020 bond vote.
