New Firehouse Project Update, Week of August 5

The Board of Fire Commissioners held a Special Meeting on Tuesday, July 30 to vote upon a motion to circulate a Notice of Intent to be Lead Agency for the environmental review process for the revised proposal for a new firehouse. This Notice of Intent to be Lead Agency was circulated to all pertinent interested and involved agencies, which are the following:

Bedford Conservation Board
Bedford Planning Board
Bedford Wetlands Control Commission
New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP)
New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC)
New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT)
Westchester County Department of Health
Westchester County Department of Planning

The environmental review process under the State Environmental Quality Review Act, known as SEQRA, was conducted and completed for the prior new firehouse proposal with no challenges to the District's Lead Agency from any of the interested or involved agencies.

The Fire District will hold a Public Hearing on the SEQRA process on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the current firehouse at 34 Village Green.
